In this investigation, Women’s Link documents the systematic violation of women trafficking victims’ right to be mothers and have a family, a right so cherished in our societies that we take for granted that everyone will have access to it. The investigation further shows the discrimination faced by these women for their status as trafficking victims as well as stereotypes around what it means to be a “good mother.” In addition to depriving women of their dignity by restricting their parental rights, these stereotypes, deeply embedded in our societies, make it difficult or impossible.
