The following report traces the gender-based stereotypes that pervade wartime sexual violence prosecutions in BiH. Notwithstanding immense progress over the past decade, judicial actors continue to draw upon these rape myths, transferring
shame and blame for sexual violence from the perpetrator to victim. With the goal of making it easier for victims to participate in criminal trials, the report identifies examples of how four rape myths manifest themselves during such proceedings, providing concrete recommendations for all relevant parties.
