The Arab Republic of Egypt’s National Report on Progress in Implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action 30 Years Later:
“The issue of women’s empowerment and achieving gender equality has been and continues to be a top priority for the Egyptian state and its political leadership. This is evidenced by the tangible achievements and steps taken by all state institutions to translate political will into policies and measures on the ground.
In light of a political will that recognizes the role of women in advancing society, its development, and its stability, the state is making strenuous efforts to consolidate the gains Egyptian women have achieved over the past years and to consolidate the values of justice, gender equality, and the principles of equal opportunity, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its strategy for sustainable development, which seeks to enhance the degree of social integration for all groups. This stems from the importance of empowering and qualifying women to achieve comprehensive development at all social, economic, and political levels.
