National Report of the Republic of Iraq on Progress Made in Implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action 30 Years Later:
“Thirty years after the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the state apparatus in the Republic of Iraq continues to redouble its efforts and take measures to ensure the protection of women’s rights and their full and effective participation in political, economic, and social development at all levels, enhancing their status in line with national principles. This is based on the belief in the importance of women’s positive participation in the comprehensive development process, as they constitute half of society and are the foundation of the family, education, and upbringing of generations.
Legal legislation in Iraq has guaranteed women’s rights as citizens, mothers, and workers, under the current Iraqi Constitution. Iraqi citizens, both men and women, are equal in rights, duties, and public freedoms without discrimination.
