State of Palestine National Report on Progress Made in Implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 Years:
“The comprehensive national review of progress made in implementing the Declaration and Platform for Action, and the preparation of this report, coincide with an unprecedented escalation of Israeli occupation violence in the occupied Palestinian territory. The human rights situation, particularly the rights to life, housing, health, water, and electricity, as well as efforts to promote gender equality and empower women and girls, are facing a dangerous turning point due to the cycle of violence in which the Israeli occupation violates international law and international humanitarian law, committing crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression.
This ongoing cycle of violence, in which Palestinian women and girls constitute over 70 percent of its victims, coupled with the ‘Deal of the Century’ and the novel coronavirus, poses a real threat to human security and stands in the way of any tangible progress in development in the occupied Palestinian territory. It also hinders women’s advancement in various fields.
