Most people are confronted more than once in their (professional) lives with the challenge of having to combine employment commitments with care tasks – be it caring for children or caring for relatives. Against the background of this work-life balance package, the Observatory for Sociopolitical Developments in Europe has together with the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) organised a series of European Expert Meet-ings. The aim was to support the Europe-wide exchange of ideas and good practices with regard to different aspects and issues of reconciliation policy.
