Source: Save The Children

It is estimated that, purely as a result of the economic effects of Covid-19, at least 10–16 million children are at risk of not returning to school. Girls are less likely to return to school than boys. Young children will have missed out on vital early childhood care and development, reducing their school readiness – with a potentially long-term impact on their learning. The global reach of this crisis has generated a shared understanding of the impact of crisis on children’s right to education. This understanding can be used to build back better and radically transform children’s chances.
